To the“ PWCCJ” new PWCC in Japan

It is my pleasure as President of The Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America to welcome you to the world of Pembroke Welsh Corgis. I am told that the members are working very hard to establish a Pembroke Welsh Corgi club in Japan that truly has the welfare of the breed in mind. The PWCCA is an old, established club in the United States with a long history of caring for the breed and guiding our members to be responsible breeders, exhibitors and owners. We have worked with another Japanese Corgi Club by allowing our 'Illustrated Standard" to be translated into Japanese for use in seminars and other educational venues.

Please be advised that the Board of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America is willing to help in any way possible to make your new club a success.

I would suggest that your club consider a code of ethics similar to the one used by our club to provide the breeders and exhibitors in your club with ethical guidelines for the betterment of the breed. We in the United States look forward to your continued progress with the club and hope that your main priorities are to responsibly and ethically breed to the Standard for the breed and provide loving permanent homes for the puppies produced.

ペンブローク・ウェルシュ・コーギーの世界へようこそ。PWCCA会長として、皆さんの参加を歓迎いたします。会員の皆さんは、日本でコーギーの幸せを第一に考えたクラブを作るべく、力を尽くされていると聞いています。PWCCAは、アメリカで長い歴史を持つクラブとして確立しています。犬種を第一に考え、また会員が責任感のあるブリーダー、ショー出陳者、オーナーとなるよう導いてきました。日本の他のコーギークラブに対しても、「イラストレーティッド・スタンダード」を日本語に訳し、セミナーなど教育の場において採用することを許可しています。

PWCCA役員会は、みなさんのクラブの成功のために協力を惜しみません。

また、PWCCAと同様の倫理規約をみなさんのクラブでも採用された事は大変素晴らしい事です。倫理規約を設けることで、クラブに所属するブリーダーやショー出陳者に対し、犬種向上を促す上での道徳的ガイドラインとすることができるからです。我々は、みなさんのクラブが今後とも進歩し続けることを願っています。またみなさんのクラブが、スタンダードに沿って責任と倫理を重んじて繁殖していくこと、そして産まれてくる子犬が一生愛情を受けて暮らせる家を見つけることができる環境づくりの両方を主眼としていることを切に願います。

To the Japanese Pembroke Welsh Corgi Fanciers

I am pleased to introduce the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Japan's translation of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America's website. Permission was granted to Mr. Jun Sekino to translate this website by the Officers and Board of Directors of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America, Inc. in 2004 at the board meeting in Biloxi, Mississippi. Mr. Sekino is a breeder of Pembrokes and a true scholar of the breed. I was fortunate enough to make his acquaintance several years ago when he attended his first PWCCA national specialty show and our friendship grew over the next several years. He explained to me his great interest in the breed and his desire to learn as much as he could about Pembrokes. I was already aware of the interest in the breed in Japan from several inquiries and many questions from Japanese fanciers received via the internet. I count myself fortunate to have made several friendships with Japanese Pembroke fanciers through those internet inquiries.

It is my hope that this new Corgi club in Japan will make education of it's members and the general public of Japan and the improvement of the breed as it's primary goals. The presentation of this website is a big step toward the education of those seeking information on the wonderful breed we all love so much. The adoption of a Code of Ethics is a second step that will put this club on the right road for the preservation of the breed. If you love Corgis and want to learn more about this breed, I would suggest that you inquire how to join this club and become involved with it. Not everyone should become a breeder, as there are many costs and much work to raising puppies the right way, but there are many other ways a person can become involved with a breed. If you are looking for a puppy, contact the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Japan through the contact information found on this website.

I am excited about the PWCC of Japan and their goals and I encourage all of you to learn as much about this enchanting dog we call the Pembroke Welsh Corgi through this club and this website. 日本のペンブローク　ウェルシュ　コーギーファンシャーの皆様

ペンブローク　ウェルシュ　コーギー　クラブ　オブ　アメリカ（ PWCCA ）ウェブサイトの日本語版でもありますペンブローク　ウェルシュ　コーギー　クラブ　オブ　ジャパン（ PWCCJ ）を紹介させていただくことを嬉しく思います。 2004 年ミシシッピー州ビロクシーで行われた PWCCA 役員会にて、 PWCCJ 代表の関野淳氏に対し、サイトの日本語訳が認められました。関野氏は博識なペンブロークのブリーダーです。数年前彼が初めて PWCCA ナショナルに来た際に知り合い、以来親しい関係を続けています。コーギーに対する並々ならぬ興味と旺盛な知識欲を持つ人物と認識しています。もともとインターネットを通じて、日本のコーギーファンシャーの方から質問や問い合わせをいただくことも少なくなかったので、日本でのコーギーに対する関心の高さは認識していました。インターネットを通じて知り合った日本のコーギーファンシャー数人の方とも、親しくお付き合いしています。

今後このクラブが、会員および一般の人々の教育と犬種の向上のふたつを目標に進んでいくことを願っています。このサイトが立ち上がったことが、われわれの愛するコーギーというすばらしい犬種について、人々が求める情報を提供し教育していくための大きな一歩です。そしてアメリカと同様の倫理規約が採用されたことが、今後このクラブが犬種の保存に向けて正しい方向に進んでいく足がかりとなることでしょう。コーギーを愛しこの犬種についてさらに学びたいと思っているなら、 PWCCJ に入会することを勧めます。とはいえ誰もがブリーダーになる必要はありません。子犬を正しく育てるには費用も労力もかかります。繁殖以外にも、この犬種に関わっていく方法はたくさんあります。もし子犬が欲しければ、同サイトからクラブの担当者にコンタクトしてみるといいでしょう。

First I would like to Congratulate the members of the PWCCJ in their new beginnings with their club! I should be a very exciting time for everyone involved. I would hope that this club will be there to educate the breeders and buyers about Pembroke Welsh Corgi and breeding practices. As a breeder and handler of corgis for over 20 years I feel that the genetic issues that have arisen with our breed should be of concern. I hope that the members of PWCCJ will look at breeding a healthy corgi. I understand that education at first can be tough! But I believe that you as a club will preserve. I also hope that will see more of the Japanese Corgi Fanciers at Specialties in the United States winning ribbons with happy health corgis!
